CAY4
-
TWO FULL SIZE XLR(F) TO MINI JACK
-
40 CM CABLE
- NEUTRIK CONNECTORS
The CAY4 is a 40cm dual Full XLR to 3.5mm minijack cable especially designed to connect two XLR microphones to a camera (or any other device with a 3.5mm TRS connector) that only has a 3.5mm minijack connector. The signals coming from the microphones will be recorded on the left or the right stereo track depending on which XLR plug is connected.

HOW TO USE THE CAY4
The setup example as shown below features the BlackMagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera, a professional cinema camera with built in 3.5mm TRS minijack audio input, and two RĂ˜DE NTG-4+'s, that can be connected via the Peppercable CAY4. The BlackMagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera is one of many camera's that contains a 3.5mm audio jack but not an XLR connector to record audio from a external microphone.
With the dual XLR connectors, a stereo audio recording can be achieved, connecting the NTG-4+'s in an X/Y setup or a dual microphone setup for example. Bear in mind that, like the CAY 1, the CAY 4 does not deliver phantom power so if there is a condensor microphone used, it needs to have an option to be powered by batteries. Dynamic microphones can be connected directly.
